- Krung Thep Aphiwat Bangkok's long-distance terminal since 2023 — not the old Hua Lamphong. Confirm which terminal your specific train uses.

Chumphon depends on an SRT arrival being roughly on time
SRT long-distance services routinely run 30 to 90 minutes late, and southbound to Hat Yai is the worst offender. It is the arrival that feeds this connection.
What to do. Take the later onward departure, not the first one that appears to connect. An overnight in Hat Yai removes the problem entirely.
